Inside Noyo: Building API connections with a human touch
Disconnected and inefficient systems are at the root of many challenges experienced in healthcare today. Noyo’s approach is to simplify and untangle the “digital knots” that create friction between consumers and the coverage they rely on. To achieve this, our Sales team partners with cutting-edge software companies and benefits administrators across the industry.
As an Account Development Representative, Madie Fingers (she/her) is empowering those personal and technical connections.
Madie, what did your path to Noyo look like?
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and started my career as an Outside Sales Associate in the payroll and benefits market. This is where I was able to learn the industry and develop my skill set. From there, I joined a Database-as-a-Service company where I got a lot of exposure to new technology infrastructure. That eventually led me to Noyo, where I get to apply my industry and technology background as well as my passion for business development.
What was the interview process like?
The interview process was great! I interviewed with several different team leads, allowing me to understand the expectations for the role from multiple perspectives. As I advanced through the interview process, the questions became more situational so it felt like I was stepping into the role itself. Everyone’s passion for Noyo was undeniable.
What excites you the most about our space?
What excites me the most is how much excitement there is in our industry around the transition from file-based systems like EDI to APIs. At a high level, APIs, Application Programming Interfaces, allow two applications to seamlessly communicate over a secure network. The implications for benefits data exchange are huge as more manual, error-prone systems can be automated and simplified. This makes the experience better for consumers, and it also enables all of these cool, exciting new possibilities. Noyo is helping solve a tough problem that many companies in our space are just now exploring, and it’s been amazing to be a part of.
What are the top 3 reasons you joined Noyo?
The People, The Product, and The Passion.
How would you describe the culture at Noyo?
Everyone has a ton of passion and ownership; they build and evolve their roles while helping others in any way they can. In a remote work environment, I feel supported and challenged.
If your team had a mascot, what would it be?
If my team had a mascot, it would be a dog because we’re always saying ‘Hello’ to everyone :)
